UGC refresher course in pharma sciences held

A three weeks UGC refresher course in pharmaceutical sciences was organised from June 10 to June 30, 2002 at the university department of pharmacy, Annamalai University.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting lamps on 10th June morning by Dr M Radhinasabapathi, the Registrar of Annamalai University. Dr V Thiruvenkatachari, the Dean, Faculty of Engineering Technology & Technology, presided over the function. Dr R Manavalan, professor & head, Department of Pharmacy, welcomed the gathering. Dr K Siva Kumar, vice-president (Technical), TTK -LIG Ltd, was the chief guest in the occasion and delivered keynote address on current pharmaceutical scenario and future prospectus. Dr G P Mohanta, reader in pharmacy and one of the course coordinators proposed vote of thanks. Around 41 teacher from various parts of India as per UGC guidelines participated in the course. Eminent resource persons from Anna University, IIT, Central Leather Research Institute, Dr ALM PG Institute of Basic Medical Science, University of Madras, Ms Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai; Andhra University, Visakhapatanam; Periar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Trichy; Asian Paints, SPIC Pharma, Cuddalore; TTK - LIG, Nicholas Piramal, Chennai; besides local experts from Annamalai University, delivered lectures.
