Lilly seeks waiver on phase IV trials for sepsis drug Xigris
ELI Lilly India is understood to have approached the Drug Controller General of India to waive phase IV trials for its breakthrough sepsis drug Xigris in the country.

IDMA, OPPI to move SC against NPPA deadline for price revision
THE Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA) and the Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI) are all set to file a joint, special leave petition in the Supreme Court by March 24 against the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) directive asking manufacturers to implement revised prices in respect of bulk drugs and formulations within 15 days of the notification.

DBT scouts for industrial partner for cholera vaccine project
THE Department of biotechnology is looking at inducting an industry partner in the Cholera Vaccine project, which is set to enter phase III trial by end 2003.

Serum aims to grab 20% BPH pie with Pyginal
Serum Institute of India Ltd (SIIL) is aiming to grab 20 per cent of the Rs 55-crore Benign Prostate Hypertrophy (BPH) market in India with the launch of Pyginal - a phytochemical drug extracted from the bark of Pygeum africanum, Dr Masud Ahmed, marketing director, SIIL, said during a media briefing in Mumbai this week.
