Fiber optic system

The fiber optics system measures the UV absorbance directly from the dissolution vessel thus eliminating the need to transfer the samples manually or automatically for the UV analysis. Fiber optic dissolution offers potentially greater accuracy as there is no withdrawal of sample from the dissolution vessel and the volume remains constant throughout the dissolution run.

The basic problems of clogging of filters and leaking of tubes and fitting are eliminated. The conventional filteration in dissolution testing removes only micron sized particles, which means that the undissolved nano sized particles are also present in dissolution sample which continue to dissolve during sampling and analysis thus leading to high concentration results.

High shear mixer

The new mixer emulsifiers can produce sub-micron emulsions faster and less expensively. Due to the rotor/ stator generator design, they can also match the emulsions produced by many high pressure homogenisers, according to the manufacturers. The mixer emulsifiers are said to be priced far lower, demand much less maintenance and produce higher throughput.

The new rotor/ stator generator operates with extremely high tip speeds - upto 8000 FPM. The intense shear applied by the rotor/ stator rapidly reduces droplet size and in most applications only a single pass is needed.
