Patient stays completely awake throughout Open Heart Surgery
For the first time, awake open heart surgery for congenital heart disease was performed in Tamil Nadu by cardiologist Dr T Jayarama Pai and his team mates at K G Hospital, Coimbatore, under the leadership of chairman Dr G Bakthavathsalam.

Dhanwantari Hospital adds two floors
Keeping with its motto ‘High quality medical care at affordable price’, a two-floor extension of Dhanwantari Hospital and Research Centre was inaugurated by Padmabhushan Dr R D Lele, honorary physician to the president of India and the head of nuclear medicine at Lilavati Hospital recently.

Awareness about thalassaemia badly needed: Experts
