Wockhardt Hospital conducts Wockathon 2004

Wockhardt Heart Hospital based in Mulund recently organised a 5 km Happy Heart Race ‘Wockathon 2004’ on the eve of the World Heart Day. The theme on this occasion was children, adolescents and heart diseases. The race was inaugurated by the Sheriff of Mumbai Dr Jagannathrao Hegde.

Speaking on the occasion the sheriff said, ‘‘Too much television viewing and junk food habits can cause heart diseases at a very early age, and we want our younger generation to have fit and healthy hearts.’’

Also speaking on the occasion Suhas Aradhye, head-Marketing, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mulund said,‘‘The aim of the race was to create awareness amongst young children about the risks of heart disease and encourage healthy eating habits among them. It was also to make parents aware that too much junk food could cause potential heart risks to children at a very young age.’’
