Summit calls for policy reforms, networking for growth
THE government and the pharmaceutical industry need to network as
well as initiate policy reforms to evolve the sector as a growth
model, adding to shareholder and economic value, experts and industry
leaders said at the recently concluded Confederation of Indian Industries
(CII) organised Pharma Summit 2004.
NIPER
to hold training programme
The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research
(NIPER) based at SAS Nagar, is conducting its tenth training programme
under Capacity Building Project sponsored by Ministry of Health
& Family Welfare, Government of India from 18th - 29th October,
2004, meant for the staff from Government Testing Laboratories.

Hrudayalaya sets up bone marrow centre
Narayana Hrudayalaya at Bommasandra has set up a bone marrow transplantation
centre in the Silicon Valley here. The Rs eight crore Emami National
Institute for bone marrow transplantation (ENIBT) is the result
of the union between Emami Group of companies head quartered in
Kolkata and Narayana Hrudalaya.

govt to set up a biotech park, seeks private participation
The West Bengal government is planning to set up the states
first biotechnology park, said Nirupam Sen, the State Commerce &
Industry Minister in Kolkata recently.
