PCI Act amendment to fully control profession and education
The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) expects to change the face of pharmacy profession in the country and take it close to global standards through the proposed amendment to Pharmacy Act 1948. Talking to Express Pharma Pulse B Suresh, president, PCI, said that the pharmacy profession and education will be brought under the purview of PCI.

NPPA revises bulk prices of phenyl butazone, aspirin, ibuprofen
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has slashed the price of phenyl butazone bulk drug from Rs 478/Kg to Rs 352/kg. A corresponding revision in the formulation prices is expected soon.

Use of letrozole for inducing ovulation justified: Kerala IMA
Letrozole is approved for marketing for the treatment of advance/metastatic breast cancer in post menopausal women. However, the Indian Medical Association’s (IMA) Kerala branch is of the view that the use of letrozole for inducing ovulation is perfectly justified.
