NATCO receives CoS for APIs

NATCO Pharma Limited has received the certification of suitability of Monographs
of the European Pharmacopoeia for its active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)-
Ondansetron Hydrochloride Dihydrate and Sumatriptan Succinate.
These certifications are granted by the European Directorate for the Quality
of Medicines (EDQM) after a thorough evaluation of the Drug Master Files filed
by the company. Customers in European countries can now procure these products
from NATCO.
The companies can convert these bulk products into finished dosage formulations
for sales in the European Union. The launch of the formulations is slated for
early 2005-2006 while the API shipments would take place within the quarter
ending 31 March 2005. Ondansetron Hydrochloride Dihydrate is an established
drug for suppressing emetic tendencies among cancer patients under medication,
while Sumatriptan Succinate is a proven medicine for migraine and related ailments.
