Matrix to acquire Belgian drug firm Docpharma
Matrix Laboratories (ML) has decided to acquire the Belgium-based $263-million pharma company Docpharma NV, in what could be considered as the largest ever acquisition executed by an Indian pharma company.

German Remedies, MS Society to train nurses for MS patients
German Remedies, part of the Zydus Cadila group, which launched Interferon beta 1b drug under the brand name Betaferon in the Indian market a few days ago, has tied up with the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society of India to train select nurses to take care of MS patients, according to a press release.

Arch, Spanish firm into technology transfer deal
Arch Pharmalabs, the Mumbai-based company engaged in manufacture of pharmaceutical intermediates & active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), has recently signed a technology transfer agreement with Groupo Uriach, a Spanish Pharmaceutical group for manufacture of two products on which the company holds various patents including the product patent.

Themis net zooms by 96 per cent in FY’05
Themis Medicare has reported excellent performance during the year ended March 2005 and its net profit zoomed by 96.1 per cent to Rs 5.60 crore from Rs 2.85 crore in the previous year.
