receives tentative approval for lamivudine from US FDA
City-based pharma major Aurobindo Pharma has received tentative
approval for its lamivudine tablets, a generic AIDS drug, from US
FDA under the Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, according
to a release.

Pharma plans to issue US $100 million GDRs
Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals has decided to raise long
term funds by way of issue of Global Depository Receipts (GDRs)
of US $100 million by an additional 15 per cent Green Shoe Option
to meet the further financial outlay on multi-therapeutic expansion
and to reduce the interest burden.

may ban Valdecoxib
The estimated Rs 90-crore Valdecoxib, indicated for arthritis and
acute pain, may finally be on its way out in India. The National
Pharmaco Vigilance Advisory Committee has recommended that the drug
may be prohibited for manufacture and sale in India under the Drugs
and Cosmetics Act.
Dabur
aims to shoot 15 pc in oral care
Dabur India, armed with an integrated oral care brand portfolio
with its Balsara acquisition, is hoping to take its marketshare
in the Rs 1,900 crore oral care market to 15 per cent in the next
2-3 years.
