moves court against NPPA demand for Rs 4.6 crore
Drug major Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd has moved the Delhi High Court
against the central government, seeking a stay of demand notice
for Rs 4.65 crore slapped by the National Pharmaceuticals Pricing
Authority (NPPA) on account of alleged overcharging of certain formulations
that the company says it does not manufacture.

City-based Nicholas Piramal India (NPIL) has picked up a 17.1% stake
in BioSyntech, Inc, a Canadian biotechnology company for a consideration
of CAN$6 million. In an announcement to the stock exchange, NPIL
said it has bought 7,500,000 common shares of the company at a price
of CAN$0.8 per share.
