enters generics market in Japan
Making a foray in the generics market of Japan, the Zydus
group announced the establishment of 'Zydus Pharma'. A wholly
owned subsidiary, Zydus Pharma will market formulation generics
and API in Japan.
Lupin
gets USFDA approval for Ceftriaxone
Lupin announced that the USFDA has approved the company's
ANDA for its Ceftriaxone injection ten gram vials. Ceftriaxone
is the generic equivalent of Rocephin, which is marketed by
Roche.

Pharma launches Nexpro Fast
Torrent Pharma has launched Nexpro Fast, a Proton Pump Inhibitor
(PPI), for the first time in India to treat peptic ulcers
and Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). It is said that
the clinical action of Nexpro Fast is faster and longer lasting
than the existing drugs in this category.

signs agreement with VWR International
HiMedia Laboratories has entered into a joint distribution
agreement with VWR International to support the chemicals
and laboratory supplies requirements of the rapidly expanding
pharmaceutical and biotech industry in the sub-continent.

Eli Lilly & Company, India has announced the launch of
Alimta (pemetrexed disodium), for use in combination with
cisplatin for the treatment of patients with malignant pleural
mesothelioma (MPM)a rare type of cancer.

licenses cardio product to Ranbaxy
Ethypharm India anno-unced the out-licensing and supply contract
agreements with Ranbaxy for a fixed dose combination of Fenofibrate
micronized 160 milligram and Atorvastatin 10 milligram.
