Merck's
Erbitux gets DCGI approval
Merck announced that it has received approval from the DCGI
for Erbitux, a new targeted cancer therapy drug. It is indicated
for the treatment of patients with locally-advanced squamous
cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN).
Glenmark
gets tentative approval for Ondansetron
Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, USA has received tentative approval
from the USFDA for its ANDA for Ondansetron Hydrochloride
Tablets of four milligram (base), eight milligram (base) and
24 milligram (base).
Ethypharm
licenses cardio product to Ranbaxy
Ethypharm India announced out-licensing and supply contract
agreements for a fixed dose combination of Fenofibrate micronized
160 milligram and Atorvastatin 10 milligram with Ranbaxy,
which will be launched in the Indian market.
Bilcare
buys clinical trial services company
Bilcare has acquired DHP, a UK-based clinical trials services
provider.
Shasun
signs manufacturing pact with Gilead
Shasun Chemicals and Drugs signed a non-exclusive licensing
agreement with Gilead Sciences for the manufacture and sale
of the generic version of Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, using
Gilead's proprietary technology.
Claris
enters the Spanish market
Claris Lifesciences announced its entry into Spain by signing
a marketing agreement with Juste Pharmaceuticals.
High
end bioinformatics solution by NMITLI
The honourable Minister of Science and Technology and Earth
Sciences, Kapil Sibal launched Geno-cluster, a bioinformatics
software developed jointly by the Institute of Genomics and
Integrative Biology and Jalaja Technologies, under the New
Millennium Indian Technology Leadership Initiative (NMITLI)
programme.

IndiaChem 2006, the much-awaited international conference
jointly organsied by FICCI and Department of Chemicals and
Petrochemicals, is scheduled to take place in Mumbai from
