A school for the industry

This is for all those who have forgotten what a school laboratory looks like and teachers who conduct tests! The participants of the one-of-its-kind national workshop on chromatographic separations, could experience demonstrations, quizzes and question and answer sessions. Co-organsied by Bio Rad laboratories and Institute of Chemical Technology, this event chose to bring in the classroom ambience to industry professionals and veterans. The broad objective behind the workshop was to explain the science of chromatographic separation and to generate manpower expertise.

The workshop was presented by Prof Arwind Lali, Chemical Engineering Department, ICT, Mumbai. He touched upon principles, designs and scale up of chromatographic separations. He also elaborated on the fact that lack of knowledge is the reason why India is not able to match with the ranks of global leaders. He presented a detailed outlook of the industry and later discussed the benefits to the students at ICT. Those present at the workshop went home home with complete knowledge about chromatographic separations. So we can say that the school is terminated for the next year.
