PharmaMatch, a Dutch pharmaceutical company and Granules India signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop, manufacture and market formulations in the European market. To initiate this arrangement, PharmaMatch will transfer its existing marketing authorisations to Granules for products like Paracetamol for which Granules has the basic and the necessary skill sets. The upcoming finished dosage facility of Granules, which is expected to be commissioned and fully operational by May 2007 will be used for the same.

Commenting on the development, Irfan Vazirally, Executive Director, PharmaMatch India said, "Granules has demonstrated excellent capabilities in pharmaceutical manufacturing and they are counting on their capabilities to take this forward in their new business of finished dosages as well." PharmaMatch on the other hand will leverage its technical and regulatory expertise to introduce its partner into the market on a pan-European scale. C Krishna Prasad, Managing Director, Granules India said, "PharmaMatch is a renowned finished dosage player in the European Union and we expect this relationship to catapult Granules strongly into the European Market.
