Zydus's Carvedilol receive USFDA nod

Zydus Cadila has received a USFDA approval to market Carvedilol Tablets 3.125 mg, 6.25 mg, 12.5 mg and 25 mg, in the US market. The drug falls in the cardiovascular segment. The sales of the tablets in the US market, as per NDC Health, are estimated at US$ 1.24 billion. Gaining a significant advantage, Zydus Pharmaceuticals (USA) launched the product on the very first day after receiving the approval. The group now has 27 approvals, since the commencement of the filing process in FY 2003-04. So far, the group has filed 65 ANDAs and 55 DMFs.
