Pharmaceutical professionals from all over the world will
be gathering in Mumbai this November, for South Asia's biggest and most comprehensive
pharmaceutical exhibition. The second CPhI India, and the debut editions of
P-MEC India and ICSE India, are all set to become the focal point for this industry.
With over 600 exhibitors from 25 countries spread over 40,000 sq metres, this
event will cover key aspects of the industry, namely ingredients, contract service
providers, machinery, equipments and technology, all under one roof. Together,
CPhI, P-MEC and ICSE will provide complete coverage of all main pharma services
sectors, and deliver high-value networking and business opportunities across
a single, highly convenient business event platform!
After the record-breaking success of last year's debut of CPhI India pharma
services event in Mumbai, organizers CMP India (UBM India Pvt. Ltd.) and CMPi,
jointly, are adding two closed complementary events alongside this November's
CPhI India 2007. The launch of the Pharmaceutical Machinery & Equipment
Convention (P-MEC India) and International Contract Services Exhibition (ICSE
India) will ensure that production technology and outsourcing have a key platform
next to the ingredients and API focus of CPhI India. CPhI India and the introduction
of the contract services show ICSE India will be held in the Bombay Exhibition
Centre's Hall 5 and 6 from 25-27 November, with the debut of P-MEC India in
Hall 1, starting one day earlier and running from 24-27 November. At P-MEC India,
visitors will typically find pharma machinery, plant/facility equipment, instrumentation,
filtration systems, automation, and packaging. P-MEC's focus for the buyer and
specifiers in these sectors has clearly been welcomed by the market.
The first CPhI India, in 2006, broke all previous CPhI launch
records with 11,000 dedicated visitors and well over 300 exhibitors, while industry
interest has brought forward the introduction of P-MEC India - originally planned
for 2008. Pharmaceutical Expo 2006, which was held alongside the first CPhI,
was a huge success with more than 31,000 visitors interacting with 325 exhibitors
from across 17 countries. The event witnessed around 5000 international trade
visitors generating massive business opportunities for the exhibitors.

The CPhI Worldwide pharma landscape has been changing dramatically
through the period since ICSE (2000) and P-MEC (2005) were added to the highly
regarded CPhI package. The associated events meet the needs for the specific
sector exhibitions, but with the critical mass and proven networking value of
the established CPhI brand. Pharma machinery, equipment and technologies have
become critical to meet the cost, regulatory and environmental challenges in
making ever more complex healthcare precuts. And outsourcing, via contract R&
D and manufacturing, has leapt from niche specialism to one of the key drivers
in the global pharma production model.
Previewing the second CPhI India, CPhI Events Director Annemieke Timmers commented,
"CPhI India showcases the best in India's pharma capabilities - but in
a truly global content. Recognising India's growing contribution to the world
pharma industry, CPhI India with ICSE and P-MEC India will provide a single
meeting place where the national and international pharma community can connect
for skills, services and capacity partnership. We're delighted that the success
of last year's debut CPhI India triggered intense interest - and enabled us
to bring forward plans to add P-MEC India to the CPhI/ICSE combination."
Looking forward to the debut of P-MEC India, Event Manager Hans Stoter said:
"The machinery and equipment sector is a vital contributor to India's gathering
momentum as a global pharma player. The event will focus on one of the key challenges
in pharma services - which is to develop more efficient production routes and
systems for the world's increasingly complex healthcare products."
Mr. M. Gandhi, Managing Director, UBM India Pvt. Ltd. said "The global
brands of CPhI, ICSE and P-MEC have been brought to India as a natural progression
of the dynamism of the Indian Pharmaceutical industry. Our vision is to make
these events in India the most important gatherings for the entire Asian pharmaceutical
industry has already become a partner to this vision by agreeing to participate
in full strength in the upcoming CPhI/ICSE/P-MEC India 2007."
India's leading pharma industry associations are playing key roles in the three
shows in Mumbai, with Pharmexcil, the Government of India's Pharmaceutical Export
Promotion Council being a key partner.
CPhI India/ICSE India also have the valuable support of IDMA (Indian Drug Manufacturer's
Association, BDMA (Bulk Drug Manufacturer's Association), OPPI (Organisation
of Pharmaceutical Producers of India) and the IPA (India Pharmaceutical Alliance).
P-MEC India is officially supported by the IPMMA - the Indian Pharmaceutical
Machinery Manufacturer's Association). Many of the IPMMA's 200 members companies
will be represented at the exhibition. The IAIA (Indian Analytical Instrument
Association) is also lending its support to P-MEC India. BAPI, Bangladesh and
APPON, Nepal have also endorsed the event.
