Bilcare inaugurates Centre of Excellence; launches a unique CSR project

Former
President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and Dr John L LaMattina, Senior Vice-President,
Pfizer, and President, Pfizer Global Research and Development, inaugurated the
Bilcare Centre of Excellence along with a unique product developed by Bilcare
to combat the global crisis of counterfeiting, in Pune. The Global Research
Centre of Excellence will have dedicated R&D sections for packaging research,
material research, analytical research, drug sensitivity studies and package
design.
For converting innovations into reality, the centre is also
equipped with Asia's first integrated Flexo Printing machine and a state of
the art pilot plant, which was inaugurated by Dr R Chidambaram, Principal Scientific
Advisor to Government of India.
The new productTo counterfeit the counterfeit
has been launched to help pharmaceutical industries in securing their brand,
increasing every products warranty, making it trackable and to secure
supply management chain.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohan Bhandari, Chairman and Managing Director, Bilcare,
said, "Bilcare is emerging fast as a knowledge company with unique research
capabilities to address critical challenges of the global pharmaceutical industry.
I am delighted that now we are in a position to offer complete solution on counterfeit
and ensure a better healthcare for tomorrow."
Kalam also launched the 'Window to the World' project, which is an initiative
of Bilcare Foundation for school children of the Pune region. This is a unique
programme initiated by Bilcare so as to make children aware of the English language
and to make them understand the importance of internet in today's computer savvy
world.
This programme devised by the foundation for the age group
of 14-17, would involve a fully equipped audio visual van with the latest AV
devices, to educate children in an interactive way. These vans will go to all
schools in Rajgurunagar on a regular basis to impart whole-some knowledge with
assistance from school teachers and the foundation's volunteers. The teaching
methodology will include interactive English, documentaries on science and technology,
usage of internet etc.
