Dabur OncQuest forays into Nepal
Our News Bureau - Mumbai
In a bid to spread its network, Dabur OncQuest has announced its foray into
Kathmandu, Nepal. Through this, the patients in Nepal will now have access to
all the technically advanced and cost-effective diagnostic tests being offered
by Dabur OncQuest in India. Commenting on this development, Aditya Burman, General
Manager, Dabur Pharma, said, "OncQuest has excelled and pioneered many
cost-effective cancer tests, with its in-house R&D laboratory; Imanitib
Drug Resistance Mutation Analysis (IRMA) being one of the tests. Cancer patients
in Nepal have to bear high costs of the tests despite it being offered by OncQuest
in India at almost half of the US prices. Understanding the high cost and the
need gap of tests available in Nepal we decided to reach out to the patients
by extending our advanced and economical services. We have always believed and
stood by the fact that world class patient management is the prime need for
our business operations." Elaborating on the same lines, Vivek Trikha,
Head Diagnostics, Dabur OncQuest said, "Foreseeing huge potential in Nepal,
we did a pilot run and diagnosed samples of over 200 patients leading to business
of more than Rs 15 lakh. We are pleased to announce our full-fledged services
in Nepal through our first commercial collection centre in Kathmandu."
The company is also planning to develop two more collection centres at Bharatpur
and Chitwann."
OncQuest works on a 'Hub and Spoke' model. All specimens
across board are brought into the 'Gold Standard' NABL accredited laboratory
at New Delhi, which are tested. The reports are delivered within set turn around
time, in leak proof packaging for superior specimen collection, storage and
temperature controlled corrugated boxes
