Suven's ACT partners with VPSCRO

Suven Life Sciences announced that its clinical research division Asian Clinical Trials (ACT) has entered into a strategic alliance with VPSCRO, a CRO based in Beijing, China, to conduct clinical trial services in India, as well as in China. This strategic alliance will allow Suven to offer comprehensive range of clinical services to global sponsors with the state-of-the-art infrastructure, network of trained investigators in India and China by leveraging their expertise for the conduct of quality clinical research. "Given the fact that 50 percent of global population lives in India and China and the global pharmaceutical industry is ever increasingly reaching out to diversified patient population, this strategic collaboration provides a platform offering full-fledged clinical research solutions in Asian region to global sponsors. It aims at providing high quality, cost effective clinical research services with greater speed in patient recruitment from the region," said Venkatraman Sunder, Vice President, Operations, ACT.

In another development, Suven announced that two product patents were granted in Eurasia (009193 and 009367) for two of their new chemical entities (NCEs) for the treatment of disorders associated with neuro-degenerative diseases. The patents are valid till 2023 in all contracting countries like Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belar-us, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

According to a company note, these granted patents are exclusive intellectual property of Suven and are achieved through the exclusive internal discovery research efforts. Products out of these inventions that are in pre-clinical development may be out-licensed at the stage of clinical phase-I or phase-II stage. The granted claims of the patents include the class of selective 5-HT compounds discovered by Suven.
