distribution tie up for Ibuprofen API
Dr Reddy's Laboratories (DRL) has signed a global distribution
agreement for Ibuprofen Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API)
with a US-based specialty chemicals company, Albemarle Corporation.

Veeda Clinical Research's group company Veeda Oncology has
acquired the clinical research group of the US based International
Oncology Network (ION) Clinical Research Organisation (CRO).

is investing Rs 15 crore for setting up three more institutes

Panacea Biotec is expanding its portfolio by entering the
fast growing healthcare delivery sector. Recently, it has
entered into collaboration with Dr Umesh Gupta of Umkal Group

IFC
to invest $15 million in Hikal
Hikal, global life sciences company announced that International
Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank group,
has agreed to invest $15 million in Hikal by way of equity
participation.

to present SUVN-502 at ICAD-2008 in Chicago
Suven Life Sciences, will present the portfolio of investigational
neuroscience new chemical entities (NCEs) at Alzheimer's conference
(ICAD) to be held at Chicago USA from July 27 to 31, 2008.
Lupin
inks marketing pact with ASCEND therapeutics
Lupin has entered into a promotion agreement with ASCEND Therapeutics,
for Suprax 400 mg tablets. Under the terms of the alliance,
ASCEND has already commenced promotion of the product in US
from June 2008.
Plethico
plans to trim CRAMS business
Plethico Pharmaceuticals is planning for trimming its Contract
Research and Manufacturing Services (CRAMS) business, as low
margins are being further squeezed due to higher inflation
and surging crude oil prices.
Bafna
Pharmaceuticals listed on BSE
Bafna Pharmaceuticals (Bafna), a multi-product pharmaceutical
formulations company in diverse therapeutic segments was recently
listed on BSE at Rs 43.80, as against its offer price of Rs
40 per share, at a premium of 9.50 percent. The scrip closed
at Rs 38.50 on the BSE.

Pharmaceutical exercises its options
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries' subsidiary has exercised the
option under its option agreement to acquire all the shares
held by the controlling shareholders of Taro Pharmaceuticals
Industries (Taro).
Nestor
Pharma plans super speciality division
Nestor Pharmaceuticals is planning to launch a super-speciality
division, by the name Long-term Therapy Division (LTD). This
division is expected to cater to the needs of the doctors
to treat diabetic, cardiac and neuro psychotropic patients.
