MilliTrace constitutive GFP reporter neural stem cell lines
Millipore Corporation, recently introduced their MilliTrace primary rodent
neural stem cell (NSC) lines that express green fluorescent protein (GFP) constitutively.
GFP expression in these stem cells is the best way for researchers to monitor
the behavior of specific populations of cells as they proliferate, migrate,
and differentiate into various cell lineages, depending on developmental context.
The MilliTrace cell lines are the first commercially available, GFP-expressing,
karyotypically normal stem cell lines, and are supplied with optimised expansion
medium. Many immortal cell lines display unstable or aneuploid chromosomes;
however, for stem cell lines to yield physiologically relevant results, it is
important that the cells display normal chromosomes. Unlike human NSC cultures,
rodent NSCs undergo prolonged self-renewal in culture without losing chromosomal
stability. Researchers at Millipore have been able to isolate and propagate
monolayer cultures of NSCs from two different regions of the rodent brain the
adult rat hippocampus and the embryonic mouse cortex. Even after introduction
of constitutively expressing GFP, the NSCs from these tissues show normal karyotype,
stability over more than 10 passages, and multipotency. Both cell lines can
be readily differentiated into neurons, astrocytes, or oligodendrocytes, using
appropriate cues.
Validated for high levels of GFP expression, stem cell marker
expression, and multipotency, MilliTrace GFP Reporter Neural Stem Cell Lines
can improve reproducibility and data quality for a variety of applications.
Researchers can use MilliTrace cell lines to study cell-cell interactions in
co-culture studies or contribution of NSCs to the stem cell niche in vivo. MilliTrace
cell lines also enable high-throughput screens to discover agents that affect
stem cell maintenance and differentiation.
Fast Membrane Filtration of high particulate and viscous
solutions
Millipore Corporation, recently informed about expansion of its Millex HPF line
of syringe filters, which improve throughput of high particulate and viscous
solutions. Notably, Millex HPF filters are now available with a new hydrophilic
teflon membrane, which exhibits the broadest chemical compatibility and lowest
extractability of any membrane. When used to filter samples and liquid buffers,
the new Millex filters improve the quality and consistency of results, sample
throughput, and the longevity of expensive analytical equipment.
The Millex HPF filter incorporates multiple media in its design a graduated
glass fiber pre-filter and a membrane filter. This multi-layer filter is resistant
to clogging by viscous and high particulate solutions, yet provides quantitative
retention of fine particulates. Hydrophilic teflon and nylon Millex HPF filters
are now available with 0.2 µm and 0.45 µm pore sizes, meeting the
needs of researchers filtering samples and mobile phases for Ultra High Pressure
Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC), a very sensitive and increasingly popular separation
technique.
Given their low analyte binding and low extractable characteristics,
Millex HPF filters are ideal for a number of applications, including drug dissolution
testing, wine analysis, and sample preparation for chromatography. The new Millex
filters are specifically engineered for automatic filter-changing workstations,
commonly used in high throughput sample preparation. The domed filter housing
ensures reliable filter delivery, minimising workstation downtime.

researchers with high binding capacity, high affinity beads for efficient protein
purification. Unlike many competitors' magnetic beads, PureProteome Nickel Magnetic
beads bind recombinant protein even in the presence of EDTA, a metal ion chelator.
Compared to other magnetic beads, Millipore's beads offer higher purity while
yielding comparable amounts of protein.

Mixing Battery

Equip Wash mixing battery is designed to provide instantaneous hot water economically
by mixing steam and cold water to the required temperature through the simple
turn of the Knob. The mixing battery is supplied with isolation valves, check
valves, union joints, strainers and temperature indicating gauge to know the
temperature of the emerging hot water.
Mixing battery provides industry with cheap hot water where ever steam is available
along with the water.
It incorporates hydraulic fail safe device so that when correctly installed
and maintained, no steam regardless of its pressure can enter the mixing chamber
until the water flows to raise the steam valve of its seat. When turned off
at the outlet, there is immediate and positive shut-off.
The unit can be provided with self rewinding hose reel. Using heavy duty internal
spring the reel quickly and easily rewinds the hose.
The ratchets assembly locks the reel when the desigred length of the hose is
pulled out. All hose reel are preset with enough force to fully retract the
hose. The hose reel is fabricated from SS-304/SS-306 for heavy duty use.
