for fast track and optimal cost clinical R&D. Tamhankar
is a doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences with specialisation
in Bio-pharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics from the University
of Mumbai.

post graduate in political science, and has nurtured
the organisation in its early days. Singh is also the

Ajit Singh is Chairman
of ACG Worldwide, Asia's largest capsules and related
machinery and packaging enterprise. He is a former President
of the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association and
Advisor to the US Pharmacopoeia for India. He was nominated
as a Fellow of the American Association of Indian Pharmaceutical
Scientists. He is Chairman of the India Affiliate of
the International Society For Pharmaceutical Engineering
(ISPE).

Dr Ajit Dangi has served
as Director General, Organisation of Pharmaceutical
Producers of India (OPPI) for over seven years. He is
former President and Executive Director of Johnson &
Johnson India where he served for 20 years in various
capacities. He holds a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Chemistry
from University of London, England.

Alok Gupta has recently
joined HSBC Private Equity Advisors as part of the Venture
Investment team. He is an engineering and economics
graduate from BITS, Pilani and holds a PGDM from the
Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. He has worked
extensively with companies in the Life Sciences, Healthcare,
Biotechnology and Technology sectors on strategic and
financial advisory projects. He was part of the start
up team at YES BANK, where he commenced and developed
the Life Sciences & Technology practice.

Dr Tania Fernandez
Director - India,
Burrill and Company
Dr Tania Fernandez joined
the venture capital group of Burrill & Company in
October 2004, and currently focuses on sourcing and
evaluating US-India cross border and pure play Indian
biotech/healthcare investment opportunities within venture
as well as merchant banking. She secured her doctorate
at the Cancer Research Institute, Tata Memorial Centre,
India having been awarded the Indo-US scholarship from
the National Institutes of Health. She previously gained
operational experience at Hoechst Pharmaceuticals, Mumbai,
India. She went on to do her post-doctoral specialisation
at the College of Medicine, Texas A&M, later joining
the National Cancer Institute, NIH in 1999 and was appointed
Staff Scientist in 2000.

VP, International Pharmaceutical Federation
P D Sheth is Vice president
of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).
He is also the Professional Secretary of SEARPharm Forum,
the South East Asian FIP-WHO Forum of National Pharmaceutical
Associations. He retired after serving Ranbaxy Laboratories
for 25 years in the capacity of Executive Vice President
and Member on the Board.

Vice Chairman, ISPE
Gopal Nair is Vice Chairman
on the Board of ISPE India and the Editor of ISPE India's
newsletter. Currently the CEO of Grasp Enterprise, a
consultancy headquartered in Mumbai, India. He was on
the Board of Glaxo (GSK) till 2001, where he was the
Executive Director on the Indian Board of Glaxo. Gopal
Nair was also a Director in Burroughs Welcome and in
Biddle Sawyer.

Rajesh Shah, President,
IPMMA is an Engineer from Gujarat University. After
working in a German company as a project Engineer, he
decided to test his entrepreneurial spirit in 1980 and
started his own manufacturing unit Maharshi Udyog in
Ahmedabad. Shah has been a member of the IPMMA since
its inception and has been taking a keen interest in
the development of the association.

Devices, Mumbai, India. As Director, Klenzaids GMP Academy,
she organises technical seminars for students. She did
her BE in Electrical Engineering, from VJTI, University
of Bombay, and went on to do her MS in Industrial Engineering
& Engineering Management from Stanford University,
USA.

Pravin Mankar graduated
from Bombay College of Pharmacy in 1977. in addition
to his academic credentials, as a free-lance consultant,
with his firm, PPM Consultants, he has set up manufacturing
plants in India and Nigeria, besides conducting WHO
GMP audits, process validation, and training programs
for SMEs companies in India and overseas.

Dr A K Singal is the Founder/
Managing Director of NNE Pharmaplan India and is also
on Board of NNE Pharmaplan Malaysia (KL). He was educated
at Universities in Munich & Herne (Dusseldorf),
Germany and did his MBBS; MS from Punjab University
at Chandigarh and Delhi. He is also the founder director
of ISPE India affiliate. He has more than 25 years experience
in providing inputs for plants in Healthcare and Pharmaceutical
sector in India and abroad.

founder partner of Technolutions Projects Pvt Ltd, which

from Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nagpur University,
a diploma in business management from Bharatiya Vidya
Bhavan, Nagpur and has won many awards.

and is an active member of the ISPE. He founded Spectrum
Pharmatech Consultants in 1995.
